SSC started as nothing more than an idea, like most things. We were created in hopes of making a difference in the lives of rescue horses. 

Strider is the one that started it all, a six-year-old Danish warmblood at the time. He had been passed from person to person and been in and out of rescues his entire life before I met him, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It took me ages of undoing his trauma but a lot of it still lingers even 10 years later. While he's happier and healthier than ever no amount of training will completely undo his scars.
